NSSA letter in support of the Proton Power Upgrade (PPU) at SNS

This letter was submitted to Paul Langan, Associate Laboratory Director for Neutron Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), on May 10th, 2017.  The letter endorses ORNL’s proposal to the Department of Energy, to increase the neutron flux at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), and argues that the competitiveness in materials research depends on the increased access to neutron scattering facilities that this project brings.
