Outstanding Student Research Prize
The NSSA Prize for Outstanding Student Research has been established by a generous private donation. The NSSA expects awards two Prizes for Outstanding Student Research at the American Conference on Neutron Scattering (ACNS). Purpose: The purpose of the NSSA Prize for Outstanding Student Research is to recognize outstanding research in the field of neutron scattering that has been performed as part of a thesis or degree. The work can be done at the B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. level. Preference shall be given to candidates whose work was carried out predominantly in North America. To qualify for the award, the student presenting their work at the ACNS must be no later than 2 years past their graduation date, and the work submitted for consideration must come from their thesis or degree research. It is not necessary that the student have already graduated. Definition: The award consists of a certificate, plaque, and $500. Timing: The NSSA Prizes for Outstanding Student Research are expected to be awarded biennially at the corresponding ACNS meeting. Nominations: Students should indicate that they wish their presentation at the ACNS be considered for the award during the abstract submission process to the ACNS meeting.
